The team at The Echocentrum consists of highly trained, professional sonographers.
Thanks to their extensive experience and knowledge, you can come to them for both medical ultrasounds and scans on request (fun). In addition, our practice assistants are ready to support and welcome you.
All sonographers at Het Echocentrum are affiliated with the Beroepsvereniging Echoscopisten Nederland (BEN). The BEN ultrasound quality registers show the type of ultrasound for which individual ultrasound technicians are certified. These can be viewed by anyone and guarantee the quality of the affiliated sonographers.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our locations in Amstelveen or Amsterdam Buitenveldert. The ultrasound center is part of Verloskundige praktijk Amstelveen/Buitenveldert.

Marloes S – (Screening) sonographer and midwife
Marloes has been an midwife since 2004. After her training she gained work experience in various practices in North Holland. Since 2006 she has been working at Verloskundige praktijk Amstelveen/Buitenveldert. She also took courses in lactation science and ultrasound. Since 2021 she is a screening ultrasound technician and makes the 13 and 20 week ultrasounds in our practice. The variety of assisting deliveries, doing consultations and making ultrasounds makes this profession so much fun for her. Marloes is the mother of two children.
Suzanne – (Screening) sonographer and midwife
Suzanne has worked as a nurse in maternity care, in the delivery rooms, maternity ward and even in Ghana. She continued her studies and became an midwife in 2006. She joined the practice in 2008.
A little later, she completed training as an ultrasound technician. She has been a screening ultrasound technician since 2023, so you can meet her at your 13- and 20-week ultrasounds. Suzanne is a board member of the Obstetric Partnership of Hospital Amstelland. She is the proud mother of three daughters.
Astrid – Sonographer and midwife
Astrid graduated as a midwife in 1995 and has been working at Verloskundige praktijk Amstelveen/Buitenveldert ever since. In 2008 she was the first midwife in our practice to do the ultrasound training. She is responsible for the finances, our schedules and the ultrasound equipment.
Astrid is mother of three grown-up children.
Marloes G – Sonographer and midwife
Marloes has been an midwife since 2005. She worked in Haarlem and Amsterdam before joining the midwifery practice in 2008. Later she did the ultrasound training. You can also come to her after your pregnancy for the placement of an IUD or Implanon. Marloes is responsible for internship supervision, the website and finances in the practice. She has two sons.
Astrid J – Practice assistant
Astrid has been in our practice two days a week since 2014. She is always cheerful, helpful and flexible, making her as fine an assistant for the midwives as she is for our clients. Her passion is painting.
The rest of the week she can therefore be found in her studio, where she works as a visual artist.
Frances – Practice assistant
Frances has been working in our practice since early 2020. Before that, she worked as a prevention assistant in a dental practice for 13 years. Three days a week she answers the phone, manages the agenda and supports the midwives and ultrasound technicians with administrative work. Frances is a pleasant colleague, caring and stress resistant and thus our support and companion.
