What is an ultrasound on request?
An ultrasound on request is a professional ultrasound scan on request that you have done ‘for fun’. So there is no active search for any abnormalities, which a medical ultrasound does. If we do see something abnormal, we will of course discuss it with you. Would you like to share this joyful moment with others? Then just bring them along. The ultrasound technician will explain everything you see on the screen. And afterwards, you get 2 photos to take home. In 3D, the digital photos are in color.
An ultrasound ‘for fun’ makes you feel good
If you are pregnant, you will be offered two medical ultrasounds as standard. Does your midwife or gynecologist find it medically necessary to perform an additional ultrasound? Then, of course, you will have an additional ultrasound. You may feel a little insecure at times when you are newly pregnant. Or you just like to take a look at your baby later in your pregnancy. Then a ultrasound ‘for fun’ can make you feel good.
WHY IS AN ULTRASOUND ON REQUEST FUN?
- From 15 weeks of pregnancy, you will know if you are having a boy or girl.
- A simple 2D ultrasound can give additional confirmation.
- You get a picture of your baby in color, thanks to 3D and 4D.
- You may bring others.
When is an ultrasound ‘for fun’ possible?
You can basically have an ultrasound scan on request throughout your pregnancy. With us, you can visit us from the 15th week for sex determination. As your pregnancy progresses and your baby gets bigger and fuller, a 3D/4D ultrasound is recommended. You can have these made with us between the 22nd and 30th week of your pregnancy. The best period is around 28 weeks. Later is also possible, but then you often only see parts of your baby. Keep in mind that sometimes a fun ultrasound does not work out, for example because the baby is just not in the right position.

Would you like to know if you are having a boy or a girl? From the 15th week of your pregnancy, we can perform a 2D gender determination ultrasound. Afterwards, you will be given two black and white photographs and you will receive these pictures by email.
2D ultrasound
Do you want to take a look at your baby? Then you are welcome for a 2D ultrasound throughout the pregnancy until the due date. Afterwards, you will be given two black and white photographs and you will receive more pictures by email.
3D/4D ultrasound
Would you like to see live what’s going on in your belly? Then a 3D/4D ultrasound is a special experience. Possibly between 22 and 30 weeks of your pregnancy (best images around 28 weeks). Afterwards, you will be given two black and white photographs and more pictures by email. In 3D, the digital photos are in color.
What does an ultrasound on request cost?
