A quick look at your baby

If you are pregnant, you will be offered the dating scan to determine the due date and the 13- and 20 weeks ultrasound. These medical ultrasounds are designed to assess your baby’s development. You will have these ultrasounds around the 10th, 13th and 20th weeks of your pregnancy. Perhaps you find it reassuring to check in a little more often, or you’re just curious and want to take a look. Then you can have an additional ultrasound at our ultrasound center. The 2D pretecho is then the simplest option.

2D ultrasound and black and white photos to take home

You can have a scan on request in 2D throughout your pregnancy until the due date. In a 2D ultrasound, flat images are taken. During the ultrasound, you will hear the heart beating and see your baby moving. Want a more comprehensive picture? Then you can also opt for our 3D/4D ultrasound.

What does a 2D ultrasound cost?

From the moment you are pregnant, you can have a 2D ultrasound with us. You will not be reimbursed for this ultrasound because there is no medical indication. The cost is €50 and the ultrasound takes about 15 minutes. You will receive two black and white photographs to take home, and digital pictures by email. Although our sonographers make every effort to provide a good pretecho, you should be aware that sometimes the ultrasound may not be successful. For example, because your baby is just not in the best position.
